10 Amazing Music Videos Of The 21st Century

4. OK Go - This Too Shall Pass

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJKythlXAIY It wouldn't be a surprise if word got out that the members of OK Go plan their music videos as they write their songs. It would certainly explain why the two fit so well together. In fact, much of their success can be attributed to their unique and inventive approach to videos. They manage to remind us of how much fun a video can be and this couldn't be more evident than in the Marching Band video for This Too Shall Pass. While the Rube Goldberg version of the video is fantastic for its usage of such an elaborate piece of clever machinery, the Marching Band version deserves much more credit. Recorded live and in one continuous take, this is a low budget piece of art. With members of the band marching towards the camera, surrounded by a camouflaged horn section and a chorus of children that pops in and out of the scene in sync, it's a testament to how brilliant the band's videos can be. Regardless of whether you like their music or not, you can't argue that OK Go is certainly using sites like Youtube to their advantage and continuing to innovate how a band markets itself.
