10 Amazing Rock Cover Songs You Haven't Heard Before
5. DragonForce - Ring Of Fire (Johnny Cash)
The jump from classic country to power metal isn't a regular occurrence to say the least, but DragonForce certainly made it work with their cover of 'Ring of Fire'. Originally released by Johnny Cash in 1963, I doubt the country music figurehead ever expected the song to sound like this.
DragonForce rose to fame in 2006 thanks to their shredding power metal single, 'Through the Fire and Flames', which went on to feature as a Guitar Hero song and still to this day is one of their biggest tunes. However, in 2014 they set out to prove their versatility as a band by covering the last song you would ever expect to appear under DragonForce's name.
With fiery riffs, thunderous drumming and scorching vocals, DragonForce swiftly and confidently put their own twist on 'Ring of Fire'. This cover featured on the band's 2014 album, 'Maximum Overload' alongside original tracks such as 'The Game' and 'Extraction Zone'.
