10 Amazing Rock Songs By Pop Artists
2. Crazy Horses - The Osmonds
Of all the people that have been on this list, The Osmonds feel like they should need rock and roll explained to them. Ever since this wholesome band of brothers first started, this was some of the most overtly chipper music ever made, with songs so sweet that it might kill a diabetic. Once you start getting older though, you start looking at what else is out there, and the Osmonds landed on something a lot heavier on Crazy Horses.
Starting off with what sounds like a whammy pedal being turned on, this entire song feels like it should be nowhere near the Osmonds, with the opening riff (yes, guitar riff) feeling a lot closer to hard rock than the daytime TV-approved songs of their early years. Since Donny was going through some vocal changes at the time, this is where we get to hear some other members of the group sing, which makes for a song that sounds like it could have been a leftover from a Deep Purple session.
It's not like the hard rock crowd didn't take notice of the drastic change either, with this song becoming a favorite among people like Paul Gilbert as well as Joe Elliot from Def Leppard. This kind of song may be far down on a rock fan's radar, but if you know, you're in for a hell of a good time.
