10 Amazing Songs That Artists Hate

8. Take it To the Limit - Eagles

When it comes to '70s rock, you really couldn't have done much better than the Eagles. Across each of their albums, these California rockers were on the crest of something amazing, eventually peaking with the mammoth album Hotel California. As time went on though, things started to get complicated when it came time to deliver one of their biggest hits.

Taking to the road, most of the band's shows would use Take it To the Limit as the encore, with Randy Meisner hitting some of his greatest high notes. However, things start to get a little bit testy when you have to reach into your upper register night after night. As the tour continued, Meisner would get too scared of not hitting the high note, and even asked Glenn Frey if they could remove the song from the set entirely.

Knowing the massive amount of fans they had out there, Frey would come to blows with Meisner every single night of the tour until everything snapped. Instead of just playing the song, Frey fought with Meisner all night, which led to his eventual dismissal and replacement Timothy B. Schmidt coming in for the rest of the tour. Though the Eagles still had Take it to the Limit in the setlist up until the end, there's no disputing that they pushed themselves to said limit more than a few times.
