10 Amazing Songs That Don't Have A Chorus

6. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Anyone who's familiar with movies has known the idea of what the heroes' journey means. Going through every single big film that has come out in recent memory, there are always the classic beats that go between the main character being whisked into a situation, finding out who they really are, and coming back home a changed person at the end of everything. That's all well and good when it comes to movies, but Led Zeppelin found a way to shoehorn that same premise into a rock and roll song.

Taking you on a journey from the opening guitar figure, Stairway to Heaven is the kind of song that feels bigger than rock itself at this point, going from the quiet sounds of folksy guitars to blossoming out into something much bigger once the drums kick in and Jimmy Page launches into his greatest guitar solo, which practically signifies the battle taking place in this song. That's not even the end of things either, with Robert Plant shouting his lungs out towards the end of the song until we finally come to rest back home with the line about buying a stairway to heaven.

The whole thing seems to go by so fast that some people don't even realize that the first 2 minutes of this song practically doesn't have any percussion in it at all. You don't always need all the bells and whistles to create an amazing track though, and you practically feel like a different person by the time this song ends as well. The hero has come back home and the listener comes back down to Earth.
