Amy Winehouse€™s death was met with shock and grief as many felt the young artist still had plenty to offer the world. Her tragic life became public knowledge as was her struggles with substance abuse and mental illness. This led to erratic and sometimes violent behaviour, which became a media focus for a number of years. One could argue - as it may be the case with Britney Spears and other such stars who have gone €œoff the rails€ - that the media have a lot to be blamed for regarding the self-destructive behaviour of many celebrities. Whatever the case though, Winehouse has shown that she was certainly a wild child, with her being arrested and charged for assault on no less than three separate occasions. The latest incident occurred when she was asked to move seats in a theatre by the manager as her behaviour and foul language was bothering nearby children. She responded by kicking the man in the groin. She pleaded guilty on the assault charge but only received a two year conditional charge despite her previous convictions.
