10 Artists Who Got Away With Totally Breaking The Law

4. R Kelly

There doesn€™t seem to be a lot of love for R. Kelly in this day and age, particularly with the internet's widespread critical eye. Some perhaps only know him through his one major contribution to the world of music; Remix to Ignition. You may remember it as that stripper song everyone loved for about 10 minutes, however, anyone familiar with the man beyond that will unlikely be singing praises about his virtues, as (as far as I can tell) he has none. Before the world one day realised that Kanye West was the biggest wanker in the music industry, the esteemed title of most hated rapper surely went to R. Kelly. His controversial marriage to 15 year old Aaliyah (whom he had known since she was 12) certainly didn€™t win him any fans. But he found himself in some real trouble when evidence started coming to light regarding his sexual encounters with the 14 year old niece of one of his protégés. A bootleg sex tape was found showing him engaging in €œimmoral€ activity with the young girl and was charged with 21 counts of having sex with a minor. However, these charges were reduced to child pornography charges before R. Kelly was eventually acquitted. Proving once again that no matter how unpopular you may be, as long as you€™re rich the system will always be there to guide your hand through legal loopholes.
