http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9evVj8Vwhk Like far too many reality TV show contestants, Gareth Gates' relationship with fame was intense, but short lived. The Bradford-born Pop Idol runner-up had all the appeal of a tween icon, with his squeaky clean image, handsome looks and music that was so bland and inoffensive that even your grandmother didn't mind. But then something happened to Gareth: he, like most 18-year-olds, discovered partying. And booze. And glamour models. An alleged affair with Katie Price seemed to have an instantly detrimental effect on his wholesome image, even though he initially vehemently denied the claims. Eventually, he confessed: Ms. Price was telling the truth. Gasp! His constant porkies about the matter were a move which he has recently admitted may have cost him a few fans, as well as damaging relationships in his personal life. It is largely possible that this event also contributed to his commercial downfall - his second album, Go Your Own Way, was a failure in the UK charts, remaining there for only two weeks. Gareth has most recently been seen in the second series of ITV2's The Big Reunion as part of a bizarre supergroup that also includes Dane Bowers and a singer called Kavana. Yeah, we've never heard of him either.
