10 Artists Who Could Headline Glastonbury 2015

1. AC/DC

David Mallet/Rocky OldhamDavid Mallet/Rocky OldhamCurrent Odds: unavailable At every Glastonbury festival to date, it has become a tradition for Michael Eavis to hold his annual press conference on the Sunday morning. He happily chats to the press on and off the record to give his views on this years performances, his hopes for the future and what lies in wait for the next festival. This year, he was more than happy to go on record with some major clues as to the identity of 2015's headliners and it's safe to say that it immediately set tongues wagging. Eavis was quoted as saying: "We've got three headliners already and that's without Prince. We've got some good headliners. We had an agent yesterday on the platform by the stage watching Metallica with me, saying 'My band want to do it next year'. I can't tell you who it was, but that was done on the platform watching Metallica. Is he a British artist? He's definitely British, but the band are not British any more. " Later tweets from those watching Metallica seemed to confirm that Eavis watched the gig in the wings with AC/DC manager Peter Mensch. This would certainly tie in with Eavis' description of the band, given that frontman Brian Johnson is Tyneside-born and bred, and the Young brothers are Scottish ex-pats living in Australia. This could simply be another case of the head organiser being playful with an eager press pack, but it seems a very precise description and a huge clue. If true, then it's a fantastic booking - AC/DC are a huge band and one of the all-time great rock acts. Much would rest on Angus Young recovering from his current poor health, but if AC/DC do rock up at Somerset next June, save us a space near the front. Who do you you think will headline next year?
