10 Awesome Classic House Music Tracks That Are Incredibly Preachy

8. Praise Cats - Shined On Me (2002)

This is another record that ultimately became very commercial and has subsequently lost some of its appeal to house music fans, but it is undoubtedly a classic. The man behind Praise Cats is Eric Miller - an American producer and DJ who is perhaps better known as E-Smoove. The pumping bassline and catchy, repetitive lyrics alongside the hard-hitting beat give this track all the elements it needs to get people dancing. The cheeky guitar that comes in later is a nice bonus. The message in this song is simple: When a certain someone (God, presumably) comes along, you feel peace and love. Preach it! The version in the video is the Bini and Martini Vocal Mix, which was as widely played (and very similar to) the original mix. Sample lyrics:
I've got peace deep in my soul I've got love making me whole Since you opened up your heart and shined on me
