10 Awesome Classic House Music Tracks That Are Incredibly Preachy

4. DJ Oji & Una - We Lift Our Hands At The Sanctuary (2001)

Brooklyn-born DJ Oji and vocal talent Una - both heavily associated with independent label Ibadan Records - combined to produce this number which is less about a religious message and more about how music is a tool for peace and happiness (specifically music in the Sanctuary - a Washington D.C. club). The track has a very deep bassline complimenting a deep piano, with Una's vocals backed up by an all-female backing group, all coming together to create a very soulful outcome. This is house music at its absolute purest and most joyous. Sample lyrics:
Now I don't see nothing wrong with singing happy songs Got the spirit deep inside and I can feel it getting strong And there's no need for aggression, we come in peace All we ask is let the music set you free
