10 Awesome Rock Music Songs With Terrible Lyrics

3. Champagne Supernova - Oasis

The Gallagher brothers - what the Beat poets would have looked like had puffer jackets been around at the time.

Manchester's favourite warring brothers shattered the system when they released (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995. What essentially equated to a Best of Britpop album wrapped up with a seven-and-a-half minute long epic ballad; the mighty Champagne Supernova.

The weapon of choice of wedding DJs trying to get people to go home, Champagne Supernova remains a highlight in Oasis' impressive discography to this very day.

However, what on Earth does this mean?

Slowly walking down the hall/Faster than a cannonball

Well, which one is it? Slow or fast? Don't try and get clever with us, Liam!

There's also this gem, in which Mr. Gallagher proves that he doesn't know how gravity works.

But you and I, we live and die/The world's still spinnin' round, we don't know why

That's a bit mean, but this faux-philosophy comes across a little forced and merely exposes how hard the band are trying to be The Beatles on Revolver.

It might not be Tomorrow Never Knows, but Champagne Supernova is still an iconic British banger.
