10. Make a Move by Incubus Stealth
Stealth was by no means an excellent concept from the get go. So why my favourite band of all time chose to write a track for this waste of film did confound me for a while. A quick glance over the Wikipedia page for the film, however, tells me that the film cost 170 million dollars to produce. So Im guessing there was a nice pay check in this entry? I should also probably point out that Stealth ended up losing 90 million dollars. How embarrassing. The film was horrifically panned receiving an approval rating of only 13% on Rotten Tomatoes. The song Make a Move was tragically wasted here. The band opted to develop a unique melodic structure that meant the vocals had to be carefully arranged so as not to clash with the main guitar and bass riffs. And for what? A film that is considered among the top ten box office bombs of all time. The poor Incubus boys even offered another three tracks to the soundtrack. How unfortunate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DsH7cT97i8
9. Young, Wild & Free by Wiz Khalifa - Mac & Devin Go To High School
This one doesnt entirely surprise me. These stupid direct-to-dvd films seem to keep coming from Snoop Dogg and pals. Still, I felt that this song should be mentioned since its become a fairly massive hit. The song is no masterpiece but its a pretty fun little rap song. It came from an entire album created in parallel with this idiotic stoner film. Why Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg felt that it was necessary to produce a shameless stoner flick to promote the music I have no clue. But from what Ive heard the movie is terrible. Its typical direct-to-dvd fare that only extremely high fans of Snoop Dogg are going to enjoy. Its so bad critics havent even bothered with it and it has no Rotten Tomatoes score. How they got Bruno Mars involved is a mystery of its own. http://youtu.be/Wa5B22KAkEk
