2. New Divide by Linkin Park - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Oh Linkin Park. Why do you give your work over to the despicable Michael Bay? Actually, Linkin Park answered this question at their last summit which I attended. They told us that the pitch was do you like explosions? Do you want your music to be played to explosions? Based on that humorous jest, this was a pay check move. I can forgive them since the songs they have contributed have been so amazing and have always landed high in the charts. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is easily the most commercially successful film on this list. It is also the worst. Im not even going to debate it. This is the only film I have ever seen that I actively wanted to leave the cinema because of. It sucked! Why this is the only entry in the franchise that Linkin Park actually wrote the song specifically for, I dont know. It was a total mess. Nonetheless, New Divide is an incredible rock song with an incredible music video. Well, if you can ignore the fact that it advertises this abomination of a film. http://youtu.be/ysSxxIqKNN0
1. A320 by Foo Fighters Godzilla
Now this one is a straight tragedy. Dave Grohl has repeatedly stated how unhappy this film made him. You see the Foo Fighters are actually huge Godzilla fans. So, in the words of Grohl, they wrote the best song ever written for it. And the majority of people never heard it. When I first heard about A320, I expected it to be some heavy rock extravaganza that would complement the manic destruction wed expect from this film. But I was very surprised. Its actually quite a light rock piece. Its quite meditative and has stunning guitar lines. Grohls voice is extremely soothing and even though I have no clue what it all has to do with Godzilla, I love it. Why oh why did it have to be wasted on this garbage remake. Even Grohl is willing to admit he wishes it never happened. http://youtu.be/EGzmda6umNs Did we miss any incredible songs made for terrible movies? Share your own picks below.
