4. Decode by Paramore Twilight
One of the biggest hits of this list, we should be grateful that Decode managed to overcome the awful film it was written for. Otherwise we might not have Paramore. This song was the launching pad of the band and was actually not an entirely bad decision since it did work in their favour. But I don't have to explain to you why Twilight is an awful movie to write for do I? It may horrify you to learn that Haley Williams actually was a huge Twilight fan and this is why she wrote the song. I try to pretend its all lies. But anyway this song was nominated for the Grammy for best song written for a motion picture in 2010. Maybe if it had been for a different film it might have won. The song is a very well know and very catchy pop-rock piece and is easily the best thing that came out of Stephanie Meyer's lamentable franchise of brain-farts. http://youtu.be/RvnkAtWcKYg
3. Good Morning Baby by Semisonic & Bic Runga American Pie
American Pie is not a well-made movie. But it is really, really funny. For my generation this series will always be the iconic hilarious, raunchy teen comedy. Sure its grossly overrated. It was badly scripted and promoted some pretty unfair stereotypes. But everybody involved knew they were making a film that would be panned. The film may not have been terrible. It actually did manage 61% on Rotten Tomatoes which makes it the highest rated film on this list by a long way. But the song was way better than the film. Good Morning Baby was a nice gentle rock number complemented by the angelic vocals of Bic Runga. Im mostly just excited that a New Zealand artist got to work with Semisonic to be honest. The song is one of those you would listen to in the morning that makes you feel relaxed and in love. Hardly suited to American Pie really. http://youtu.be/G8JuJCURDlw
