2. Glenn Hoddle & Chris Waddle - Diamond Lights
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WACF8ID-To The most amusing factor of this record isnt actually the song itself, but the self-loathing plastered across Chris Waddles face each time the camera pans to him. He is clearly aware that this track is going to make him a laughing stock around the country and yet, he has nobody to blame but himself. It can only be assumed that he either lost a bet or owed Hoddle a huge favour - a favour that would prove to haunt him. Chin up Chris, youre going to miss a penalty in a few years time that will divert everybodys attention away from this track. Glenn Hoddle on the other hand, clearly had less doubts about the record. He fully embraced his new popstar role, adopting the similar body motions and enthusiasm of Cliff Richard - as the England international belts out his vocals. With the alluring charm that seeps through Hoddles voice as he sings the words darling I love you, my diamond light it can only be assumed that the whole country went completely weak at the knees on that very first listen. In reality, the song was an extremely awful, cheesy pop record that radiated the 80s and Waddle was perhaps less blind to the inevitable end result than his vocal partner years of mockery as opposed to a thriving music career.
