10 Bands From The 2000s You've Definitely Forgotten
2. Junior Senior
Few groups will give as a bad a case of disco neck and arm waggling as these Danish rhythm banditos come sexual deviants. Music, whether it was indie, rock, pop or whatever, got really serious for most of the decade with musicians talking with great grandiosity about their influences and their goals with their new album; Junior Senior just wanted everyone to dance to an 8-bit sound and make love afterwards.
Furiously infectious beats coupled with revitalising electro keyboard lines that cover the tracks like a warm robe. Everything about Junior Senior comes with a subtle wink and a kindly reach around from the gloriously cheesy nature of most of their back catalogue to free love vibe they project outwards.
It’s Europop done with choruses that demand to be chanted and will make even the most turgid of indie naysayers and hipster intelligentsia crack a smile and waddle onto the dance floor.
There were better groups than Junior Senior throughout the decade, there weren’t many that were more fun though.
