10 Bands That Destroyed Their Careers
8. Rage Against the Machine
A career killer normally needs to be something more than just a fallout. As much as you might not like to admit it, your favorite artists are normal people who sometimes just want to hang things up after giving their soul for the past 30 years. In Rage Against the Machine's case though, they pretty much snuffed themselves out before they grew too big.
It's not like Rage wasn't that successful either, with their self titled album and The Battle of Los Angeles being some of the most important rock records of the entire '90s. Even though they never switched up their sound all that often, the real scars they left were on themselves, failing to see eye to eye more and more as the years went on. While still having the same political ideologies, everyone found themselves clashing over anything and everything, nearly getting into a fistfight as to what their tour T-shirts would look like.
Also the stunts like Tim Commerford crashing the MTV Awards during Limp Bizkit's win probably wasn't the best move either. Outside of the reunion coming soon, the output of Rage is only going to be reserved to those 3 records of original material. Then again, you can still say that Rage managed to do almost everything they could as a band.
