10 Bands That Destroyed Their Careers

7. Aerosmith

A lot can happen to a band when you've been together for decades. Between the millions of records that you sell, there's only so much that you can tolerate when you're working with the same people over and over again. So it made sense that Aerosmith wanted to work with other people during the '90s...and abandon rock altogether.

Outside of their resurgence at the start of the '90s with songs like Cryin and Amazing, a funny thing happened once they hit gold with I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. Although this song became the bonafied smash they had been waiting for, no one could have predicted that it would also become a curse. Ever since then, Aerosmith has seemed content with going for the gold and selling out their artistic soul in the process, from Steven Tyler's stint on American Idol to making songs that sound like they're designed to be on soundtracks to movies that don't exist (or will ever exist).

Just the fact that an album like Just Push Play exists confirms that these guys have left rock in the past and are content to keep the pop cash cow going for as long as they live. Hope you like songs like Jaded...because you're probably never going to get something like Toys in the Attic ever again.
