10 Bands That Never Made The Same Album

9. Daft Punk

The electronic duo Daft Punk have cultivated their sound down to a science in recent years. Though the band members are clearly discernible thanks to their eccentric headgear, the sound is so crisp that you don't even need the added robot masks. On the other hand, these guys have pushed the boundaries as to what an electronic beat can do.

At the beginning, the band's debut Homework seemed like your typical house record, but Discovery was what blew everything wide open, with songs that took from rock, disco, and R&B. Just when you thought they had delivered their opus, Human After All saw them doubling down on the rock side of things and even gave them hits like "Robot Rock."

With three records to their name, the band seemed to be on an indefinite hiatus, choosing to instead bring their musical stylings to collaborative efforts like on Kanye West's "Stronger." When they came back though, they reinvented the musical landscape all over again with Random Access Memories, which brought the sleek sounds of disco and '70s gravitas back onto the radio waves. Even in their score for Tron and live albums, the band toy with the idea of their typical sound by infusing different sonic landscapes as well as mashing up their older material. After each record they've put out, Daft Punk are one of the leaders in electronic music that show just how much soul is in a computer.
