10 Bands To Listen To If You Love Led Zeppelin

2. Greta Van Fleet

Ever since they came onto the scene around 2015, Greta Van Fleet have been compared to Led Zeppelin, and for good reason.

After all, vocalist Josh Kiszka embodies Robert Plant not only in timbre and affectation but in overall stage presence as well. Likewise, virtually every aspect of their instrumentation – from their crunchily bluesy guitar licks and acoustic strumming to their stampeding syncopation and pacifying keys – is eerily authentic. For the uninitiated, it’d be fairly easy to mistake Greta Van Fleet’s music for newly uncovered Led Zeppelin tracks.

Of course, these similarities have greatly divided critics and consumers. On one hand, the band could be seen as keeping the spirit and skills of their most transparent influence alive (if not motiving a whole new generation to check out Led Zeppelin proper, too).

Conversely, brothers Josh, Jake (guitar), and Sam (bass/keyboards) – alongside drummer Danny Wagner – could be dismissed as nothing more than blatant copycats capitalizing off of their ancestor's legacy.

Either way, the resemblances between both bands are as staggering as they are undeniable, especially on tracks like Highway Tune and The Cold Wind. (Even Plant agrees.) Thus, anyone looking for a modern reincarnation of Led Zeppelin will find it here.
