10 Bands To Listen To If You Love Led Zeppelin

1. Trust

French hard rock troupe Trust rose to prominence around 1980 and – a few hiatuses notwithstanding – they’ve been producing music ever since. While comparisons to edgier groups like AC/DC, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden are certainly valid (hell, Iron Maiden drummers Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr were members of Trust), there’s no denying that they also drew inspiration from Led Zeppelin.

Their second LP, Répression, demonstrates the connection well via lively rockers such as Au Nom de la Race (In the Name of the Race) and Sors Tes Griffes (Get Out Your Claws). For sure, guitarist Norbert Krief captures Jimmy Page’s tone and flair, just as the rhythmic duo of percussionist Jeannot Hanela and bassist Yves Brusco nail the chemistry of Bonham and Jones.

Despite taking some long breaks over the last four decades, Trust have maintained that classic rock potency. For example, 2019’s Fils de lute packs just as much of a punch thanks to standouts like the dejected yet melodic Tendances and the bitingly liberating Delenda.

True, other groups on offer resemble Led Zeppelin more directly, but that doesn’t mean that Trust are any less suggestable. Indeed, their anthemic aggression will definitely get you where you need to go.
