10 Bands You Need To See At Download Festival 2017

1. Max And Iggor Cavalera: Return To Roots

For the longest time, Max and Iggor Cavalera's acclaimed Return to Roots set was thought to be a once in a lifetime event for British fans, as the only UK date on the tour's initial run came in London in December 2016.

The driving duo behind two of the most notorious bands in thrash and groove metal, Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy, the brothers Cavalera will be spending their Saturday set on the Zippo Encore Stage blasting out classic belters from Sepultura's lauded 1996 opus, Roots.

Writing as someone who was lucky enough to catch the London show last year, it's safe to say that this is an experience that no metal fan should miss. Complete with its pioneering use of percussion and native Brazilian influence, Roots has gone on to be an immense stepping stone in the progressing diversity of heavy metal, and the (albeit belated) 20th anniversary live shows capture the exotically enigmatic tones of the record perfectly, resulting in a fluid, focused set that very few can ever hope to compete with.

Plus, the live reaction that the nu metal hit "Roots Bloody Roots" always gets at a show is just too brilliantly insane to miss.
