10 Bands You Need To See At Download Festival 2017

6. The Dillinger Escape Plan

For many fans, Download 2017 could very well be the last chance they have to witness the post-modern mind-benders The Dillinger Escape Plan, whose imminent break-up is tragically looming closer and closer. Hot off their final record Dissociation (2016), an LP so good that I was rightfully scolded for not putting it on my Best Metal Albums of 2016 list, Greg Puciato and co. will doubtlessly shred the house down when they headline the Avalanche Stage on Sunday.

With an audience and a headline slot all their own, this is the swansong that Dillinger undeniably deserves after years of providing music that is somehow ungodly punishing, fantastically melodic and brilliantly rule-breaking all at the same time.
