10 Best Albums Still To Come In 2013

3. Arctic Monkeys - AM arctic_monkeys_olympics Album number five for Arctic Monkeys and they're still going as strong as ever, as made clear to the nation by their storming, much talked about Glastonbury performance. Alex Turner has talked very reassuringly about where the band feel they are with this album, saying intriguing things like "it sounds like a Dr Dre beat", "sounds less like four lads playing in a room this time" and "it feels like this record is exactly where we should be right now." The album features guest performances by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) and Pete Thomas (long-time drummer for Elvis Costello) which, combined with the ever-maturing Arctic Monkeys lads, can only mean superb musicianship and an exciting meeting of minds. The whole thing is supposedly a 50/50 mixture of rock 'n' roll and R&B, and Josh Homme described it as a "modern, dancefloor sexy record." With strong singles like R U Mine? and Do I Wanna Know? already out, excitement is only building for this eclectic sounding Arctic Monkeys return. http://youtu.be/VQH8ZTgna3Q Release date: 9 September
