https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkMOXsY1nDo You always get a little bit of insight into a band's thinking process when there's a song with the same name as the album it's appearing on, as assumedly it's the one they want to shine the spotlight on a little bit more than the others. In AB's case they needed a suitably fantastic track with which to hang their debut work, and what a phenomenally intricate, underrated gem it is. From Flip's drum-powered intro that marks a high point of any live set, to Mark's finger-stretching riff and the solo that subtly weaves some sweeping patterns into a very anthemic run, it's Myles' uplifting lyrics and the chorus itself that's just quintessentially Alter Bridge in tone and feel. Even a decade on this still packs just as much punch as it did on launch, and with Tremonti's shred-tastic chops getting more and more confidently complex, the sped-up live version is a show in itself.
