10 Best Breakup Albums Of All Time

3. Lemonade - Beyonce

When you go in to track an album about heartache, you can go in a few separate directions with things. While it's easy to just go in vengeful and spiteful towards that heartless piece of trash, others tend to be much more forgiving and even manage to find time to grow throughout the experience. So which one did Beyonce manage to do? All of them.

Though you can judge the music on this on its own as fantastic, the backstory of Jay-Z's infidelity just brings that much more dramatic weight to the narrative that Queen Bey is trying to tell here. Across every track on Lemonade, you can practically hear her showcasing different points in her heartbreak, from the sudden shock of Pray You Catch Me to the confrontational sounds of Don't Hurt Yourself, with one of the most effect uses of Jack White since the White Stripes.

Then again, anger is only a little piece of healing, and the rest of the album finds a way to make peace with Hova's mistakes, with All Night and Sandcastles being powerhouses for Mrs. Carter's booming vocals. Given the amount of bile that was thrown at him here, it's almost poetic to see her forgiving him and becoming a stronger couple at the end of things. See, out of all the sob stories on this list, at least this one gets the silver lining that we were looking for.
