The original song was a groovy funk composition with a smooth delivery and chilled vibe, as we've come to expect from Stevie. Red Hot Chili Peppers - being a band rooted in a unique blend of funk and hard rock - were naturally ideal candidates to have their own stab at the song. Essentially keeping the tune the same, their version was much more rock-oriented, less of an easy feel and much more in your face than the original.
