8 . Tenacious D - "The Metal"

Grohl has provided drums on all three, even going as far to cameo as the Devil in the 'Tribute' music video and Tenacious D movie, 'The Pick of Destiny'. He gives 'the D' the much needed rhythmic backbone they need to give their songs that extra power. No track more so than "The Metal" from 2006's "The Pick of Destiny". It's a suitably 'metal'-sounding drum part too, with emphasis on the tom-tom fills and repeated use of a thunderous bass pedal. The outro sees Grohl battering away on the drums, working hand-in-hand with the chugging power chords to end the song with a bang. As Jack said, "You can't kill the metal".
