10 Best Debut Rock Albums Of The 21st Century

8. Volbeat - The Strength/The Sound/ The Songs

Although this album wasn’t a huge commercial success at the time, it stands up to scrutiny in hindsight and represents the beginning of something great for rock music.

2005 was a big year for rock music with Dream Theater, Judas Priest and Opeth all unleashing stunning records. But, below the surface a new band from Denmark called Volbeat were also starting to make waves thanks to their debut album, ‘The Strength/The Sound/The Songs’.

Armed with rip-roaring guitar riffs, pounding drumming and one of the most distinct voices rock music has ever heard, this album proved that Volbeat were on a fast track to the top. Standout songs from this record include ‘Pool of Booze, Booze, Booza’, ‘I Only Wanna Be With You’ and (arguably) the bands most overlooked song, ‘Another Day, Another Way’.
