10 Best Debut Rock Albums Of The 21st Century
9. Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
Despite the UK’s glittering and essentially unrivalled history in heavy metal, Bullet For My Valentine are Britain's only representatives here. However, music is all about quality not quantity (unless your name is Buckethead, in which case it’s about both) and BFMV’s debut effort is a great advert for modern British metal.
‘The Poison’ was largely helped to success by its phenomenal lead single, ‘Tears Don’t Fall’. Still to this day, ‘Tears Don’t Fall’ is seen as an essential metal tune, earning its right to join some of the all time classics. This isn’t the only great song on the album though, as ‘Hit the Floor’, ‘All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)’ and ‘Cries in Vain’ are also all amazing additions.
Since 'The Poison', BFMV have become one of Britain’s biggest current metal acts, alongside fellow headline worthy acts like Architects and Bring Me The Horizon.
