10 Best Debut Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

9. What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? - The Vaccines

Britain in the 2000s was a great time for depressed-sounding skinny young men with guitars to warble on about how bleak life was.

Aka, the rise of indie.

The early 2010s continued this trend and bands like The Vaccines played a major part in that. Forming in 2010, this London-based four-piece burst onto the scene just one year later with their self-questioning debut album.

What Did You Expect from the Vaccines? burst into action with the song Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra); 84 seconds of punchy chords, sing-a-long verses, and an F. Scott Fitzgerald mention for the literature nerds out there.

This lightning pace continues across the entire 11 track album, which is over and done with in just over 36 minutes. This was the short sweetness of punk mixed with the laid back detachment of indie rock and people ate it up.

The Vaccines quickly became one of the most talked-about bands on the scene and this record sold like hot cakes.

It reached number four in the UK charts and was the 53rd best-selling album of the entire year. It even managed to chart in the US!

It charted at number 197, but hey, a chart position is a chart position.
