10 Best Debut Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

7. This Is The Six - While She Sleeps

Metalcore is a subgenre that more and more fans were hearing about as the 2010s began.

A combination of heavy metal and hardcore punk, it was popularised by bands like As I Lay Dying, Trivium, and Killswitch Engage before more modern groups took up the torch.

One of those bands was While She Sleeps.

This British outfit formed in 2006, right as metalcore was taking off, and would go on to become a staple of the UK metal scene into the next decade.

Their debut album, This Is the Six, came out in 2012 after the band's previous EPs had gained traction. This Is the Six only increased that popularity, as it got major airplay across some of the biggest radio stations in the UK.

Imagine your Nan tuning into her morning radio show and hearing this. She'd be blown backwards in her armchair.

While She Sleeps' combination of melodic riffs and the impeccable screaming of singer Lawrence Taylor meant they were an instant hit amongst fans old and new.

They would go on to dominate the hardcore sector of British rock music for the next decade, even if Bring Me the Horizon did steal their thunder just a teensy bit.
