4. The Real Slim Shady
The eye of the storm of violence, misogyny, pain and caustic wit contained within The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem's greatest achievement. Over one of Dr Dre's finest beats, the Detroit rapper delivers the best flow on the album, laying waste to critics and peers alike without discrimination. While The Real Slim Shady is not quite his finest achievement, it is certainly the most billous. The track can seem a bit dated by it's targets-Pam and Tommy Lee, Fred Durst and Christina Aguilera all radiating 90's chic. However, the rhyme structures and lyrical impudence are timeless, and delivered with such furious wit that modern contemporaries such as Kenderick Lamarr should still be putting it on repeat in their downtime and taking notes. Slim would never quite be as angry and funny at the same time to such a rewarding effect. Well, maybe once more...
