1. Nicki Minaj
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPGaXJlaK9Y Nicki Minaj comes from a performing arts background. She released three mixtapes between 2007-2009 which caught the attention of Young Money Entertainment who signed her up as an artist on their label. Pink Friday was released in November 2010. Nicki became the first artist to have seven songs simultaneously in the Billboard Top 100. The track Super Bass from the album was a worldwide smash and was certified quadruple platinum. Nicki's second album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was released in April 2012. One of the songs on the album - Starships - was a top ten hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Now that she is a global superstar, Nicki is doing the whole - let's release a perfume and a clothing line and be a judge on American Idol thing. But there is no woman who can hold a candle to her rapping. Her range is very versatile and she can sing as well as rap. Plus she's not a gangsta chick - she can do gangsta but her output is very original and her videos are gaudy spectacles to behold. My only complaint - too much plastic surgery.
