10 Best Final Albums In Rock

5. Made In Heaven - Queen

At the start of the 90's, rock music's resident royals faced an uncertain future. After Freddie Mercury announced his AIDs diagnosis in November of 1991, he passed away the very next day. With Queen being Mercury's baby, no one could blame the band if they wanted to never play music again.

Instead, the band went back into the studio with the rough sketches of songs that Freddie had been working on to create Made in Heaven, a poignant tribute to their fallen musical comrade. The album that unfolds shows Freddie still on top of his game even in his unhealthy state, with tearful moments on songs like "A Winter's Tale" and "Too Much Love Will Kill You."

The real tearjerker of the album comes in the form of "Mother Love," with Mercury delivering a show-stopping performance before guitarist Brian May finishes the vocals due to Freddie not being well enough to complete the track before his death.

With the context of Freddie's death behind the album, Mercury sounds invigorated on each song and he soaks the life out of every note he can muster. Though Mercury will never grace the stage again, Made In Heaven is everything fans could have hoped for and then some.
