10 Best Hard Rock Comeback Albums Ever
8. Angel Of Retribution - Judas Priest
Following 1990's Painkiller, singer and frontman Rob Halford left Judas Priest, and it's fair to say the 90s were a bit of a tough time as a result. In the space of 11 years, the group released only two albums, both of which received mixed results. It seemed that without Halford, Judas Priest were losing their popularity.
So when Halford rejoined the band in 2003, the group were back in the studio, firing on all cylinders. The result was the release of Angel Of Retribution in 2005.
The 15th studio effort by the band, it ended up being the fourth highest charting Judas Priest album, along with numerous awards for best album that year. It was reportedly described by Halford as a continuation of where Judas Priest were after the release of Painkiller, and many of the album's songs went down well with fans, with tracks such as 'Judas Rising' and 'Angel' continually performed live.
It also paved the way for the band to continue collaborating up until the present day.
