These days, Wilko Johnson is most widely recognised as the guy who cut Ned Stark's head off in Game of Thrones' first season. But, in the 1970s, his band Dr. Feelgood were on the way to stardom. Veteran rock doc director Julien Temple presents the story of the original line-up's beginnings and short-lived moment in the limelight.
During a time when glam-rock was picking up, Dr. Feelgood stuck out like a sore thumb. Described in the film as "four guys who looked like they'd just done a bank job", the Canvey Island geezers erupted onto the London pub scene with their hard-rocking take on rhythm and blues.
Although lead singer Lee Brilleaux was an electrifying frontman, known for his captivating stage presence, it was the combination of him and guitarist Wilko Johnson that made their shows so electrifying.
The film sets the band up as the precursors to the British punk movement, and features former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock describing how the band's raw and slightly intimidating energy was the influence for many future punk rockers in London.
