10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 2000s

1. Tribute - Tenacious D (2002)

It might have only been a tribute to the greatest song in the world, but this music video turned a whole generation onto the comedy brilliance of Jack Black and Tenacious D.

What better form of entertainment is there than Jack Black and Kyle Gass doing battle with a mythical beast, played by none other the Dave Grohl? The video depicts the bumbling buffoons attempting to "change rock history" by recording a musical retelling of the bands perilous encounter with a demon.

If their tale can be believed, they managed to defeat the creature using the only weapon at their disposal, the power of rock! Sadly, the hard rocking amigos weren't ever able to recall what they played on that fateful night, but instead the world was gifted with the song Tribute.

Although the single Tribute performed fairly poorly in the US, the music video was a UK favourite and was nominated for several awards.

In the decade after the video's release there wasn't a house party thrown without this song coming on at some point, inspiring everyone to throw down whatever they were doing and join in with this timeless tale of how rock conquered evil.
