7. Smooth Sailing – Queens Of The Stone Age (2013)

When almost everything had been done a million times, Queens Of The Stone Age showed us they could still come up with an original and amusing concept for a music video. The premise mirrors the lyrics to the song. Josh Homme sings about indulging in a nihilistic lifestyle, where all meaning is void and the only thing left to do is to cause as much mayhem as possible.

Homme finds himself at a decadent dinner with a bunch of Japanese businessmen. The video follows their exploits as they proceed to get progressively more wasted. The group takes part in that most unwise of drunken antics - karaoke - as the night develops they indulge in ever more hedonistic and outrageous escapades. At various stages throughout the evening they steal a sports car, get into a brawl and consume a buffet of narcotics.

Eventually one of their party succumbs to his hallucinations and ends up killing several members of the public. The gang are forced to bury their victims in the desert. Picture The Hangover if it had taken a turn for the darker...
