10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 80s

6. Welcome To The Jungle - Guns N' Roses (1987)

Before all the fame and success inflated Axl's ego to the equivalent of Donald Trump's, Guns were still making fun music videos. There were no aircraft carriers in sight, no one was getting married (or buried) and Slash wasn't playing guitar solos in the middle of the desert.

No, this was just a simple, to the point video that told you what these guys were about. Axl and the band cavort about on stage, looking that '80s brand of cool, while they play one of their fattest numbers from their debut album.

Intercut with footage of the band, an innocent Axl is shown arriving in the big city before he's eventually swallowed by the madness. In a scene reminiscent of A Clockwork Orange, he is subjected to all manor of violent imagery. This motivates him to toughen up, which apparently meant you had to adopt some tight pants, a teased hair style and a t-shirt at least three sizes too small. How does one survive the mean streets of LA? Dive right in with an appetite for all things chaotic, but make sure you look 'cool'.
