10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 90s

4. Learn To Fly - Foo Fighters (1999)

Dave Grohl managed to make the transition from drummer to frontman with surprising ease. It wouldn't have been outside the realms of possibility for Grohl to fade into the obscurity after the tragic ending of Nirvana. For a while it looked as though he might be resigned to a floating drummer, briefly playing with the likes of Tom Petty and Pearl Jam.

But luckily for the world he was destined for bigger things. After several albums and a string of hits, Foo Fighters released Learn To Fly which was accompanied by one of their most ridiculous videos to date.

A couple of incompetent drug smugglers (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) unintentionally spike the supply of coffee onboard a commercial flight. Before long everyone becomes sky high, including the pilots. Luckily, Grohl and his band mates had resigned themselves strictly to booze for their inflight refreshments and managed to land the plane, saving the day.

Taylor Hawkins in particular seems to enjoy any opportunity to get dolled up as busty women, and Grohl can never resist putting in the pigtails. It was silly, fun and there wasn't a single swooping helicopter shot in sight.
