10 Best Hidden Tracks On Rock Music Albums

8. The Only One I Know - Some Friendly (The Charlatans)

Streaming might be the most popular way to do it these days, but there are plenty of different ways audiophiles can enjoy music. Vinyl, CDs, cassettes, wax cylinders, sheet music; all of these methods and more are available to the discerning connoisseur.

Whilst variety is always welcome, it can get a bit confusing trying to organise all these different formats, as English band The Charlatans found out in 1990. Their album, Some Friendly, was issued on vinyl and CD, leading to this embarrassing oversight.

Though the digital version of the album listed the song The Only One I Know on the back, the original plastic-based iteration did not. This caused a bit of an issue, as this was the lead single.

The Only One I Know is among the band's most famous songs, as well as their first to make a real splash on their home scene. Whilst it was actually on the vinyl version, fans had no way of knowing that before they bought it.

An error like this could have been curtains for this promising new act, but they managed to overcome it and enjoy a long and fruitful career.
