10 Best Hip-Hop Producers Of The 2010s

4. Boi-1da

Boi-1da is one of the in house producers of Drake's OVO Sound label and has collaborated with the Canadian powerhouse on multiple occasions, playing a part in his rise to stardom in the early part of the decade with contributions to the songs Forever and Best I Ever Had. He hit his commercial peak with the anthemic Eminem single Not Afraid, probably the biggest hip-hop song of 2010. That hard hitting, loud and thumping sound is something he has maintained throughout his music, and he perfected in in 2015.

Early in 2015 saw the release of Kendrick Lamar's The Blacker The Berry from "To Pimp a Butterfly," the most overtly political and impactful song on the entire album. The production needed to match Kendrick's raw aggression and anger on the song, and boy did it achieve that (no pun intended).

A mere 4 days after this release saw the surprise Drake mixtape "If You're Reading This, It's Too Late" drop. Boi-1da served as an executive producer on the project, and it ended up being the punchiest and most to the point album Drake has released in his career. Boi-1da directly produced a whopping 8 songs on this album, so it's not hard to see the influence his sound had on Drake's style on this album.

Boi-1da is still working at the top of his game by working with artists like Nicki Minaj, ASAP Rocky and Lana Del Rey. He is as consistent as any A-list producer in the game, and that's a compliment to how he has meticulously worked to create his signature sound.
