10 Best Hip-Hop Producers Of The 2010s
3. Metro Boomin
Metro Boomin is arguably the most sought after producer in the hip-hop world right now. Almost everything he touches turns into pure gold. Young Thug. Kanye West. Drake. Migos. Future. 21 Savage. He's been making hits for the biggest names in the game for years now, all thanks to his signature fast-paced, dark, bass-heavy beats. Even his producer tags have become a thing of legend.
The last three or four years have seen his stock continue to rise, consistently being responsible for massive commercial hits like Jumpman, Mask Off and Bad and Boujee. There are a lot of producers in the game who try their hardest to emulate his style and sound, but it's virtually impossible to do it the same way with the same consistency that Metro Boomin is able to do.
Not to mention he also functions as a lead artist. His debut album "Not All Heroes Wear Capes" debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200, not a feat many producers are able to achieve these days.
2019 saw Metro Boomin reach outside the realms of hip-hop by collaborating with the likes of Solange and James Blake, two artists very different from the traditional trap Metro is used to delivering. Nonetheless he still sounds at home producing for artists like these.
If he continues to put out work with the same quality and consistency, he will easily go down as one of the very best producers of our time.
