10 Best IDLES Songs

4. Danny Nedelko

Danny Nedelko is an anthem for community and anti-racism - sorely needed at the best of times, let alone now. The video features the titular character meeting with people of all different backgrounds and making the ok symbol, one that has been misappropriated by white supremacists.

Here the symbol has been made to be a symbol of acceptance and love. Again IDLES are reclaiming the weapons of hurt and nullifying them. With the refrain of “Fear leads to panic, panic leads to pain. Pains leads to anger, anger leads to hate”, IDLES put out a message of why unity is needed and the benefits thereof.

Also within the song is a likening of ‘my blood brother’ to different people and types, showing the wide range that make our communities richer places. Another thing to look out for is a spelling section which needs to be listened to to work out.
