10 Best Iron Maiden Songs
7. Dance Of Death - Dance Of Death
Another of Maiden's trademark eight minute plus songs, the title track of 2003's Dance of Death stands out as one of the best from Dickinson's second stint with the band. Not only did they benefit from the return of their front man, but adding Adrian Smith as a third guitarist allowed them to produce a depth of sound like never before.
To the backing of incredible, technically faultless music, Maiden proved once again with Dance of Death that they are nothing short of expert storytellers.
While the majority of their lyrics are based around something substantial, like the harsh realities of war, even something as fantastical as a dance with demons around a fire immediately grips the listener and doesn't let go.
One of the band's slower, softer starters, Dance of Death ramps up a gear or two at around the three minute mark, upping the tempo with the introduction of an orchestral element that helps lift the track from outstanding to purely sensational.
