10 Best Joe Rogan Experience Episodes With Musicians

5. Joe Perry (Episode 569)

For decades, Joe Perry has cemented himself as one of the greatest guitarists in rock. Right from the beginning of this episode it's clear how much a fan of Aerosmith and Perry himself Joe Rogan is, and the two delve into an excellent two hour conversation covering all sorts of topics.

In the early 80's, after leaving Aerosmith five years prior, Perry was looking to start a project with the likes of Alice Cooper before his wife said maybe he should give his old band one more shot. How different the music scene could have looked if not for that one conversation!

Along with potential gun control measures, a harrowing look into how a pandemic can sneak up on the world and hit the population hard, made so much more apt by the world's current situation, and his initial dream of becoming a marine biologist, the two Joes discuss Perry's love for music.

The epitome of being in it for the experience and not for the money comes from his story of Walk This Way. At the time, the band didn't know whether the collaboration with Rum DMC would even make the album, they just did it anyway because they thought it would fun. It's a good job they convinced DMC to give it a go, as this attitude helped make the song as great as it turned out to be.
