10 Best Metal EPs Of 2017 (So Far)

6. Dendera - Part One: Blood Red Sky

The first in a series of two EP's by melodic British thrashers Dendera, Part One: Blood Red Sky is easily the band's most intense output to date, rife with seven-string guitars and increasingly quick rhythms.

Blood Red Sky is a ride that feels both old-school and refreshing, with the lead vocals of Ashley Edison and his grandiose, operatic delivery opening up memories of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, while the EP's impressive musicianship and the ten-minute closer "All Is Lost" also connote a band crafting its own, individual path through the realm of metal.

Despite its short length, this is easily Dendera's best release thus far, signalling great things for its upcoming, hotly anticipated follow-up.
