10 Best Music Videos Of The 1980s

6. Genesis - Land Of Confusion

The British satirical programme Spitting Image never pulled their punches when it came to their targets, creating grotesque puppets of politicians and celebrities to skewer throughout the eighties - but they must have been somewhat surprised when Genesis frontman Phil Collins rung them up after seeing their melted-waxwork version of him and asked them to make a music video for the band.

The clip for Land of Confusion has endured either way though, telling a loose story about United States President Ronald Reagan undergoing a crazed nightmare in which the band and a litany of other celebrities haunt his every step. It's pantomime brilliance at its unhinged best.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
